Deconstructing the Internet of “Things”
- Innovation Birmingham
- Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM
- Innovation Birmingham Campus Holt St
Deconstructing the Internet of “Things” promises to be an enlightening event happening right here at the home of Kalexiko; Faraday Wharf. The concept driving the event is ‘What happens when there are more ‘Things’ on the Internet than people?’ which poses an interesting and enigmatic question.
Deconstructing the Internet of “Things” is a two part event; the first part focusing on the question concept posed above. The first half which explores the concept ‘What happens when there are more ‘Things’ on the Internet than people?’ looks into the strategies that can be adopted from the growing Internet of ‘Things’ and how an organisation can benefit from it.
This will take place through a 90 minute workshop featuring tech innovators JSJS DESIGNS and Daden, which will allow all those present to learn from those who have already engaged with the challenges and difficulties through designing and connecting with the Internet of ‘Things’.
The second half will take the form of an interactive link-up session, featuring a live HD video feed to delegates in Digital Enterprise Greenwich, Abertay University and Sunderland Software City.
With a chance to hear the challenges faced and lessons learnt already from industry pioneers this promises to be an edifying event and definitely not one to be missed, and did we mention it is free?

The Consummate Lawyer bring to you a workshop that emphasises the important impact of social media on a digital marketing campaign; as they put it themselves, ‘the whole online world is changing rapidly and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to implementing social media to promote yourself professionally.’
Essentially this workshop is aimed at helping those who haven’t quite grasped the reigns of social media campaigns to get a grip on how to implement it in their business; a mandatory factor in any marketing campaign these days. Those present will be enlightened by the sharing of techniques such as;

- ‘6 steps to the perfect social media profile’
- ‘3 easy ways to start, find and join online conversations’
- ‘How to write blog posts and articles that people want to read’
- ‘5 ways to build your reputation on LinkedIn’
As I said, this workshop will help those who need to grasp the basics to do so. Those who are more savvy with social media may find this event a bit too basic, but nevertheless the workshop will no doubt provide interesting insights into both the world of digital and legal marketplace.
