Here at Kalexiko we always like to keep our eyes peeled for any resources that will help us develop our skill set. We recently came across these little gems from Computer Arts who over the last few weeks have published magazines featuring pro software tips for Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects. If that wasn’t enough, you also get a free DVD with each copy full of resources and video tutorials! Wondering what each copy has to offer?

Photoshop
This covered everything from tool guides and hidden shortcuts that help boost productivity to 150 essential techniques for web design, retouching and illustration. Also included were incredible artwork from the likes of Justin Maller, Emeric Trahand and Beefactory along with 1.5 hours of video tuition on the effects of colour theory.

InDesign
Looking to speed up your workflow? Or how about an expert guide that ensures your next print project flows more smoothly? You’ll find these plus loads more within this issue. Grids, print preparation and digital publishing along with an hour’s worth of video tuition on object styles makes this a personal favourite.

Illustrator
Vector va va voom! Breeze through complex projects with pro guides to paths, curves, shapes and styles. Symbols, brushes, paths, bezier curves artboards and effects have all been given the pro guide whilst there’s some great tutorials on eye catching repeat patterns and isometric type-based design.

After Effects
This issue oozed with pro guides to titles, expressions, effects and the all important timeline. Find out how to make AE work for you along with some incredible particle and stunning shatter effects. Vivian Kim, Broken Antler and Brand New School all share their tips and hints on making your next project a sure fire hit.

Needless to say, we weren’t disappointed with any of these issues and would certainly give them a big thumbs up. If you would like a copy of these to stand proudly on your bookshelf you can find them all here. Happy reading!
